For over 20 years teams from across England have competed at HAFAS to become champions of England – some have focussed on the football others have tried to keep their focus while indulging in more social activities, whatever the choice everyone has returned home with a warm glow and stories of what could or should have been!
HAFAS is a mix of sport and social activity; it’s great for team building and for meeting colleagues from far and wide. Held over a weekend in early summer each year teams represent healthcare organisations or localities; anyone working in the NHS, social care or related healthcare activities is eligible to play.
Professionally organised and managed, sanctioned by The F.A. and seen by many as the ‘must do’ sporting and social event of the year HAFAS has something for everyone – separate men’s and women’s competitions, and for men’s teams age 40 and over there is the Vets Challenge; the first day comprises round robin group games and the second brings the champions and plates knock out rounds.
HAFAS is a charitable event with 10% of entry fees donated to a nominated charity.
